Power Through Prayer

Résumé

"Power Through Prayer" by Edward M. Bounds is a theological treatise written in the late 19th century. The author argues that effective ministry is rooted not in new methods or organizational structures, but in the personal holiness and prayer life of the ministers themselves. The opening of the book introduces the foundational idea that effective prayer is essential for the power and success of preaching. Bounds urges that true spiritual strength arises from a life of prayer, and he warns against superficial or mere routine praying. He asserts that the essence of the preacher's work lies in their character and commitment to God, and that the effectiveness of ministry is directly linked to the depth of a minister's prayer life.
