"Miss Mapp" by E. F. Benson is a comic novel written in 1922. Set in the fictional coastal town of Tilling, it follows Miss Elizabeth Mapp, a tyrannical spinster who presides over her small community from her window perch, spying on neighbors and orchestrating social dominance.
